It’s Food Truck Season in the UK

Summer is that time of the year where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the sun. It’s a time for festivals, day-trips and generally having a great time outdoors.

This year, it seems to have taken its time, but we think Summer has finally landed and that we’re in for a good one.

Here in the UK, summer’s not only the time for a trip to the beach or lounging in the park, it’s also time to check out the growing assortment of food trucks that frequent popular hot spots in your city.

Food trucks started in Texas in the 1900’s, around the time of the second World War in the form of army food wagons that transported food canteens to hungry soldiers. Decades later they have evolved into a thriving industry that has been embraced by people in dozens of countries. In the UK, people are enjoying the convenience of mobile food, that compliment the hustle and bustle of city life.

As of now, food trucks are considered to be one of the best places where you can get quality food at a great price and a great number of food trucks are selling a variety of food choices, from briskets to doughnuts, to satisfy your cravings. They provide restaurant-quality food, without having the formality and price. One can simply go out, fuel up and move on to your next destination.

The UK summer has just begun, but food trucks are already out and about, offering the perfect meal or pit-stop for those enjoying the sizzling summer sun.

We estimate that 2016 will be a record breaker for the number of trucks in operation and since we love food trucks as much as you do, but realise keeping track can be difficult, we’re here to list them for you wherever you are in the country.

So, if you want to catch your favourite vehicle then keep checking our home page for their latest whereabouts and do drop us a line if you have any ideas or suggestions.
